The IKEA shark, or Blahaj, is a staple in IKEA stores around the world. However, did you know that the Blahaj has a long history? The roots of the shark trace back to 2006, when IKEA created its first ever plush shark, the Korall Fisk. The Korall Fisk was discontinued in 2008, and replaced with the Grossby, a grey shark that looks similar to Blahaj. However, the Grossby has a different fur texture. Around 2010, the Grossby evolved into the Klapper Haj, which is the most similar to Blahaj. The only difference between the Blahaj and the Klapper Haj is the color. Finally, IKEA released the Blahaj in 2014. A smaller, baby version of the Blahaj is also available as of now.
